The house:
Casa da Avó Genoveva (Nana Genoveva’s Home), dates from the late seventeenth century and is in the tradition of the farmhouses of the fertile plains of Ribatejo.

The pink and white façades; the stone framing of doors and windows; the old barn and the winery – now both converted into spacious apartments: everywhere you look, there are snippets of a typically calm and relaxed Portuguese way of life we like to preserve.

The family:

This four century-old house has been home to our family for six generations. Our history is embedded in these walls, along with names of great-grandparents, uncles, brothers, grandparents, and cousins … Lives of our and olden times, many memories and emotions that we like to share with those who come to visit us.

The care for those who come, stay, and often return, is our commitment to the Present and Future of this house. We do it with the utmost dedication and affection, thus preserving this house, its gardens and memories for our children and grandchildren. Each guest we receive is a merry step on this path.

Tradition is served

At Nana Genoveva’s Home, breakfast is prepared with special attention. In the morning, our guests will find a wide variety of products, most of which are locally sourced. Others, such as marmalades, jams and cakes are homemade, using the fruits grown in the orchards and following age-old – and mostly secret – family recipes.

Located in a small village near Tomar, Nana Genoveva’s Home is the ideal place to rest, away from the hub of big cities. Take time to cycle or walk through our gardens; cool down in the swimming pool, catch up on that book in our reading room or enjoy the pool table and various other games that are all available to our guests, so you can make the most of your stay.
